12 Unimec special screw jacks for an offshore wind farm: the project of a leading Italian renewable energy company

Among the various sectors in which our Unimec screw jacks are used is the renewable energy sector.

An important Italian company operating precisely in the field of alternative energy sources recently commissioned us 12 special jacks intended for the assembly and installation of an offshore wind farm (wind blades located in the middle of the sea).

These are wind turbines of such a size that they cannot be assembled where the customer's site is located: in fact, for their assembly it is necessary to travel to Trieste, directly on the sea.

These are 12 screw jacks with a mast length of more than 4 meters that will be supplied to the customer complete with a C5-M anti-corrosion painting cycle, a key feature for an application in a marine environment.

According to the UNI EN ISO 12944-1:2018 standard ("Paints and varnishes - Corrosion protection of steel structures by protective paint "), environments are classified according to their degree of environmental corrosion, both for structures exposed to atmospheric corrosion and for buried or submerged structures.

The C5-M anticorrosion paint cycle is recognized by the ISO 12944 standard as the most durable coating system for a highly corrosive environment: the paint helps prevent corrosion in all those devices located in coastal and marine areas with high salinity.

Appropriately prepared according to specific customer requirements, Unimec screw jacks are ready to face this new challenge made even more urgent by the impetus in 2022 for clean energy production, for a safer and more sustainable Planet both in today's and the future of new generations.
