Platform

A platform is a plane normally translated on the vertical axis with the help of various lifting systems, such as hydraulic or mechanical jacks. Unimec manufactures superb quality mechanical Screw Jacks and Bevel Gear Reducers with exceptional performance, absolute reliability and high accuracy. The use of a Screw Jack offers a variety of advantages such as its inherent self-locking mechanics allowing to maintain its position while supporting the load even in case of motor failures or power outages.

Scissor-lift

The scissor-lift is used in a variety of lifting applications including theatrical stages and orchestra pits in the world's most prestigious theaters such as Milan La Scala Opera Theater, Arcimboldi, Dal Verme, San Carlo, Gobetti, Kamennoostrovsky and many others. Unimec Screw Jacks are used to enhance the dynamic and scenographic effect of stages and orchestra pits. The translation is obtained with the help of translating nuts, allowing a consistent, reliable, safe and accurate positioning of the moving sections. A scissor lift system can be made of multiple mechanically-synchronized screw jacks controlled by a single motor.

Fork grip

The fork grip is a synchronized system capable of grabbing, supporting, moving and releasing heavy loads in absolute safety. Unimec TPR DA Dual-Action Screw Jacks are the heart of the system: these models are characterized by two separate, opposite-thread spindles, operating simultaneously: the opposite thread allows the two translating nuts to travel simultaneously in opposite directions. Multiple screw jacks can be mechanically synchronized with the help of high rigidity transmission shafts. All of Unimec screw jacks can be manufactured in the DA Dual Action configuration and offer standard load capacities up to 55,000 lbs each.

Calender

The calender is a machine tool featuring two or more cylindrical rollers. Thanks to their inherent self-locking mechanism and the ability to perfectly maintain positioning even under significant loads, Unimec Screw Jacks are the ideal solution to correctly position the adjustable rollers in a calender system. Additional accessories, such as our Rod-End Bearing End-Fittings and Clevis-Style Rigid Protections are also an integral part of a calender solution allowing a smooth and consistent adjustment of the rollers

Solar panel

Unimec Screw Jacks are widely used in the solar panel industry. In these applications it is vital to guarantee an accurate and consistent orientation of the object while safely supporting it even in the presence of random wind gusts of significant strength. Unimec Screw Jacks are the go-to solution for all solar trackers. Our systems can be equipped with various options and protections against the elements (sun, rain, dust, sand, debris, etc.) and are offered in weather-resistant materials including full stainless steel construction.

Presses

Presses are used in countless industrial applications, especially in the metal converting industry. Unimec Screw Jacks are the ideal solution for any press application and offer tremendous downforce and extreme positioning accuracy. Multiple Screw Jacks can be mechanically synchronized with the help of bevel gear reducers and heavy-duty transmission shafts capable of guaranteeing absolute position accuracy. Optional accessories such as our rigid and bellow protections ensure that the trapezoidal spindle is always free of dust, dirt and debris.

Antennas

Unimec Screw Jacks are also widely used to move and support large size satellite antennas and radars. In both cases, in order to obtain a clear and reliable transmission, it is vital to guarantee an accurate and consistent orientation of the object while safely supporting it even in the presence of random wind gusts of significant strength. Unimec Screw Jacks are the go-to solution for all radars and satellite antennas. Our systems can be equipped with various options and protections against the elements (sun, rain, dust, sand, debris, etc.) and are offered in weather resistant materials including full stainless steel construction.

Vertical lathes

Unimec makes the world's largest and heaviest Screw Jacks ever manufactured. These units were specifically created for Carlo Carnaghi, a world leader in vertical lathes and large size milling machines. These special Screw Jacks feature 8,000 mm (26.6 ft.) long, dia 160 mm x lead 28 mm spindles creating a colossal 60 ft. x 40 ft. machine. Despite the enormous size of the machine and the considerable distance between the spindles, our system guarantees an extremely accurate positioning with a maximum lead discrepancy of only 0.06 mm (less than 0.0025")
