2023, Unimec continues to grow: new hires and the constant search for young, talented people

Unimec began 2023 by showing all its desire to grow: in January we welcomed three new people to our company who found employment in the assembly department.

The search for metalworkers is a challenge shared by companies in the sector in much of the world: many workers and machine operators currently employed in workshops belong to the generation that, in these years and those to come, will reach ¢retirement age.

Companies in our industry are therefore scrambling to find workers who can not only replace those who are leaving, but also to allow for any business expansions that require increased staffing to keep up with increased production.

Companies in our industry are working hard to address a necessary generational turnover, approaching and training new staff not only able to take the place of people coming to their well-deserved retirement, but also to allow companies to grow, increase production and serve markets that increasingly appreciate our quality.

But what is the profile of the mechanical industry worker?

In our experience, some people come to Unimec with a technical education behind them, while others discover a passion for mechanics later, perhaps after working in another industry or even after finishing a non-inherent course of study.

We have often said that in Brianza, mechanics is not just a trade in which "you get your hands dirty," but it is a noble profession that has a centuries-old, deep-rooted culture behind it.

It is with this spirit that those who work at Unimec know they can make a difference in our industry, and it is for this reason that Unimec's "historical" workforce lives the responsibility of handing down and letting all newcomers learn the trade, committing themselves to refine skills when they are not yet fully mature, thus creating a virtuous circle that, year after year, allows us to continue to grow and steadily increase productivity thanks to the knowledge of those who have now made mechanics their own.

We at Unimec are always looking for young talent, both among people who already have a background in technical skills and by betting on those who have a more generic passion for mechanics and a desire to learn a trade that is almost an art: what we call Ars Mechanica.
