Unimec has manufactured a new hollow-shaft, bevel gear reducer from the RA Series with compression couplings.

We’re talking of a new hollow-shaft, bevel gear reducer from the RA Series with compression couplings on both input and output shafts.

If you are wondering what may be the reason behind such a peculiar configuration, the answer is all about the inherent backlash on the shafts. Normally, our bevel gear reducers present a backlash value of 15-20 arcminutes.

For special applications, when a reduced backlash is important, we can normally get to levels in the range of 5-7 arcminutes. If the application requires an even tighter degree of reduced backlash and high precision, we recommend the installation of compression couplings both on the input and output shafts.
 
Such solution allows avoiding transmission delays for long periods of time, making the product even more efficient.

The manufacturing of these products requires extremely high level of specialized craftsmanship which is the main reason for Unimec’s constant investments in terms of personnel advanced education and training
