Aleph Series and X Series: Unimec’s solutions for the food industry

How is Unimec related to the food industry? Our products are vastly used in this field!

In the last few months we have seen many fields of application for Unimec’s products: nuclear, off-shore, pharmaceutical, to mention a few; however Unimec is also well rooted in a variety of other industrial fields.

“Nourishing the planet, energy for life”: this is the main theme of the Universal Exposition, better known as EXPO 2015 that will be taking place in Milan throughout the year, but how is Unimec related to the food industry? Our products are vastly used in this field: have you ever wondered how cookies are packaged? How tomato sauce is dispensed? How pasta is made? How water, milk, fruit juice, energy drinks are bottled and packaged? All of these processes are possible thanks to our Screw Jacks and Bevel Gear Reducers.

In fact, Unimec is the only company in the world manufacturing a complete range of products capable of exceeding the most demanding standards of the food industry: we are talking, as an example, of our unique Aleph Series.

Unimec Screw-Jacks from the Aleph Series maintain the very same mechanical functions and self-locking features of our TP and TPR Series, however, thanks to the full Polyarylamide structure and our revolutionary approach in the gear molding process, they can work without lubricants, which is an essential condition in some of the most demanding food industry applications.

Aleph Series units are made completely in high-performance polymer: Polyarylamide is a glass-fiber reinforced compound with extremely high strength and rigidity and outstanding creep resistance. Everything in the Aleph Series is manufactured out of this incredible material, including the worm gears and the nuts: particularly, thanks to the outstanding properties of this material and our revolutionary manufacturing process, we are able to obtain “ISO 2901:1993-compliant” threads by molding process. The only machined production stage is the toothing of the helical wheels that allows us to obtain our standard 1/5, 1/10 and 1/30 ratios.

Another Unimec solution perfectly suitable for the food industry is, of course, our AISI 316 Stainless Steel X Series: 3 sizes of screw jacks and 3 sizes of bevel gear reducers, in a variety of configurations, ratios and options, available in 100% stainless steel construction.

Finally, besides the Aleph and X Series, Unimec offers a multitude of food compliant accessories such as screws, threaded shafts and even special, food compliant lubricants such as our standard option (Total Nevastane HT/AW-1) as well as special protections and bellows.
