Alessandro Maggioni is the New Chairman of the Young Entrepreneurs in Confindustria Monza and Brianza

In 2003 Alessandro Maggioni joined for the first time the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria Monza and Brianza: eleven years later, he becomes the Chairman. A finish line which is also a news beginning, not only for Unimec, but also and especially for the Italian manufacturing sector.

After two years as Young Entrepreneurs vice-chairman, the COO of Unimec, a company leader in the field of power transmissions, now holds the most prestigious charge for the 2014-2016: the chairmanship of Alessandro Maggioni is a symbol of “continuity” because the Young Entrepreneurs are headed once again by a manufacturing company.

An important “way back to the roots” for the most long-lived industrial confederation in Italy: as underlined by Mr. Maggioni: “the manufacturing sector must be supported and protected because it is an Italian excellence and, as entrepreneurs, we must feel this responsibility in the same way I feel it today towards those who voted me but also towards who didn’t”.

Not only the word “continuity” echoed in the air: for Alessandro Maggioni, another key words that will characterize his chairmanship is “identity”.

The Board of Directors must be the spokesperson of the associated entrepreneurs, so that they can identify themselves and feel properly represented” - Mr. Maggioni says - “the team has to express the different industrial realities with a particular attention to the manufacturing field that, in Brianza, is still an excellence”.

But identity is also encouraging the feeling of belonging of the companies that are part of Confindustria, because it’s not just a confederation but also a place of confrontation, a “common house”.

Finally, for Alessandro Maggioni is “essential to fight against the ‘loneliness’ of the entrepreneur and revamp the associationism; we have to roll up the sleeves and make difficult choices, like when I started in 2001: newly graduated, with Unimec devastated by the tornado and my father in the hospital”.

The Maggioni’s often remember that unfortunate July of 2001 as a new starting point: a company that seemed to be at its wit's end because of a natural disaster, few months later rose again from ashes to become a leader in its sector not only in italy, but also in Europe.

With the same spirit, Alessandro Maggioni starts to lead the Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria Monza and Brianza: the beginning of an itinerary whose goal is to support the importance of the Lombard business community.

Good Luck, Chairman!
