Argo: mechanics with an eye to the future with Unimec’s new Cloud platform

We are now in the month of September of a very complicated year: at Unimec we invested all of our energies to launch an important improvement that will help all of our clients get back to work better and more efficiently.

 The name of the project is ARGO, from the mythological character of Argus Panoptes, the 100-eyed giant constantly watching over everything, and will be launched at the end of November at the BIEMH tradeshow in Bilbao, Spain; just like the mythological ever-watchful guardian, Unimec’s ARGO will be capable of integrating all of our optional sensing devices with a single net-connected drive.

Temperature, Motion, Rotation, Wear: everything can be monitored, measured and stored in the cloud, providing readily-available information to the user while freeing them from all of the associated costs.

ARGO is not only hardware but even software: the cloud platform will allow our customers to achieve tremendous mechatronic integration cost savings, it will monitor and track cycle duties and operation environments, providing the tools for ideal maintenance and warranty extension options.

Additionally, in an ideal circular economy model, all collected information will feed a global database of the actual operating conditions of our power transmission units, providing us with invaluable real-life information and tools to further research and develop new products.
