Formula Student 2023: Unimec bevel gearboxes take to the track with the University of Naples Federico II and Universitatea Politehnica Timișoara!

Research, innovation, and trust in the younger generation: three values that underpin both Unimec's philosophy and success and make us especially proud to be able to help students from two prestigious universities; we explain how!

Engineering students from the University of Naples Federico II and the Universitatea Politehnica Timișoara (from Timișoara, Romania) have asked for our support to participate in Formula Student, Europe's most successful engineering educational competition, which, just in 2023, will celebrate its 25th anniversary!

Formula Student is a real automotive championship in which teams formed by engineering students from 100 of Europe's leading universities compete in the realization of innovative racing car projects. For the occasion, we have provided two RX54 type bevel gearboxes at no charge to students from Federico II in Naples and Universitatea Politehnica Timișoara.

Our bevel gearboxes will be used to build the single-seaters to be fielded on the starting grid: the models that take to the track must be original, but also safe, reliable, comfortable and well finished.

The competition, supported by industry leaders and high-profile engineers, aims to train enterprising and innovative young engineers as well as encourage more young people to pursue engineering careers.

It is a true quality certificate for real-world engineering experience that combines practical experience with soft skills such as business planning and project management.
