Tailor-made solutions and quick turn-around: Unimec is on the leading edge for custom industrial applications

In the most recent years, Unimec has progressively strengthened its natural inclination to manufacture special products and unique, tailor-made solutions.

Precision Screw Jacks and Bevel Gear Reducers are the mainstream products that contributed to the rise of Unimec in the international scene; however, in the most recent years, Unimec has progressively strengthened its natural inclination to manufacture special products and unique, tailor-made solutions that are now playing an important strategic role in the Company’s growth process.

3,000 - these are the total manufactured units in September 2015. In stark contrast with the stagnant trend of the industry, Unimec has just recorded the highest manufacturing output in the last 5 years.

This extraordinary result has also been corroborated by a number of unique applications that have been developed in the last few weeks; amongst many, a recent example is a special order from our British Distributor Motovario, Ltd. who commissioned 33 custom bevel gear reducers of our hefty size 350 (each unit is 400 lbs) specifically tailored for screw jack sizes 12014 and 18016.

As mentioned earlier, custom-made units are becoming an important strength for Unimec; Davide Beretta, Manufacturing Manager at Unimec, explains the core points of our strategy:

“As far as screw jacks and bevel gear reducers, we stock every single sub-component in our main manufacturing plant in Usmate Velate (Milan); this strategic choice allows us to produce finished units extremely quickly. As a consequence, our R&D Department can focus on their primary task and design innovative solutions without worrying about turnaround times and overall quality, which are always standard practice at Unimec.”

The growing manufacturing workload encourages Unimec to invest in new products and accessories (such as our brand new proprietary lubricant specifically formulated for our screw jacks) and improve our internet and social media presence, with new tools and perks to be announced very soon.
