Unimec Lights Up the Future: The Relamping Project for a More Sustainable Business

Unimec has made a significant stride in this direction with the comprehensive relamping of its facilities, involving over 400 light fixtures across three workshops, offices, and exterior spaces.

Relamping entails replacing existing lighting systems with more efficient technologies, especially LED lamps. This not only enhances the quality of illumination but also significantly cuts down on energy consumption.

Thanks to this innovation, Unimec now saves 100,000 kWh annually while maintaining consistent usage levels. This saving not only reduces energy costs but also makes more energy available for other users, redistributing resources in a more sustainable and thoughtful manner.

A key aspect of the relamping process was the environmentally responsible management of old lighting fixtures. These were disposed of through a specialized firm that reclaimed valuable components, such as copper, and safely handled the disposal of special waste, including light bulbs.
