UNIMEC, tangible innovation: new patents and continuous R&D for innovative solutions

Unimec’s R&D is always one step ahead of the game and - with the cooperation of Bosch Rexroth - develops a new solution to move huge loads in tight spaces

Since its year of inception – back in 1981 – Unimec has always distinguished itself for its innovative spirit that led to the design and manufacturing of unique solutions, often considered engineering milestones in the power transmission industry.

Our most recent patents include an innovative proximity switch support that can be embedded directly in the unit, our self-aligning nut capable of compensating severe chassis misalignments, and our Automatic Lubricant Management System, a revolutionary device featuring Unimec proprietary lubricant, capable of managing all of the ordinary maintenance and lubrication aspects of our Precision Screw Jacks.

One of the first applications to be specifically engineered and equipped with our Automatic Lubricant Management System is a material handling station for a large scale pipeline manufacturing plant in the Middle East: a jaw-dropping application with thirty 7010 TP Series Precision Screw Jacks, capable of moving 45,000 lbs each!

Besides the impressive load capacity, these units feature a 2,000 mm long screw, TOR End-Fitting, PE Elastic Bellow Protection to protect the screw and prevent dirt, sand and debris from contaminating the moving mechanism, as well as PR Rigid Protection and Lateral Oscillation Pins.

Another unique solution for the aerospace industry was co-engineered by Unimec and Bosch Rexroth: this innovative solution allows lifting and supporting of significant loads even in tight or severely restricted spaces.

Specifically, Unimec has engineered a special K Series Precision Screw Jack, equipped with a special Planetary Roller Screw from Bosch Rexroth: the system is capable of withstanding extremely challenging forces caused by the extensive testing process of aerospace parts and devices.
